waqt nahi…

Zara thought today I will make an extra effort, seems these days Ravi and I are really drifting apart, we never spend any time together. So Zara planned a surprise lunch, she shopped the day before bought all the ingredients to make Ravi’s favourite dishes, meticulously chose his favourite wine and of course his favourite dessert.
On Sunday morning While Ravi was at the gym she tided up and set to prepare the surprise lunch, once done she set the table in the garden under the cherry blossom. Putting his favourite flowers in the vase and setting the wine to chill she went to change and be ready to surprise Ravi.

She put on her favorite blue blouse tied her hair with a ribbon to match the blouse and sprayed her self with Ravis favourite perfume.

Glancing at the clock she went to turn on the oven and placed their favourite CD in the cd player, hoping to surprise Ravi at the door.

She heard his car drive in and as he approached the front door she took one last look at her self in the mirror and opened the door to grab his hand and lead him to the beautifully set table ready for lunch.

“Hi, Sweet heart how was the gym??” she asked as she went to peck him on the cheek to greet him. Ravi without casting even a glace at Zara, replied “it  was ok, I have a lot of work to do!!” and brushed Zara away.

“Oh Ravi today is Sunday , come on I have  a surprise” she held his hand and lead him to the garden, Ravi pulled his hand away from her grasp, and reluctantly followed her as she chattered away leading him to the lunch table she had so lovingly set.

Zara “I have a lot of work to do, and what is this music?? And you know I hate eating out in the garden” Ravi moaned. Zara thought how can you forget this song??”our song”???It appears that as usual ,these days with Ravi, everything irritates him.But she tried to smile and put the negative thought out of her mind.

“BUT Ravi its such a beautiful day I thought we could have lunch out here and spend some time together” Zara replied  feeling hurt that all her efforts were going in vain. I have cooked your favourite lunch and its ready… pleeeease Ravi.

Zara served the lunch but deep down there was a lump in her throat that she was finding hard to swallow. She realised that the love they once shared was lost for ever, there was nothing she could do torevive it . Trying extremely hard to hold back the tears, she maintained her composure,  they had lunch in silence……..Zara fumbled with her napkin as  a single tear that had long been threatening to cascade finally trickled out from the corner of her eye .She  thought I think all my efforts are useless ,things will never be the same, maybe its time to  let go…………………….

WAQT NAHI…..

Har khushi Hai Logon Ke Daman Mein,
Par Ek Hansi Ke Liye Waqt Nahi.

Din Raat bhagti Duniya Mein,
Zindagi Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Saare Rishton Ko To Hum Maar Chuke,
Ab kuch umeed rakne Ka Bhi Waqt Nahi.

Saare sapne aur wade kiye Hain,
Lekin wade  nibhane ka Waqt Nahi

Gairon Ki Kya Baat Karen,
Jab Apno Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Aankhon Me Hai Neend Badee,
Par Sone Ka Waqt Nahi

Dil Hai Ghamon Se Bhara Hua,
Par Rone Ka Bhi Waqt Nahi.

Paraye Ehsason Ki Kya Kadr Karein,
Jab Apane Sapno Ke Liye Hi Waqt Nahi.

Tu Hi Bata E Zindagi,
Iss Zindagi Ka Kya Hoga,

Ki Har Pal apne walo  Ko,
Hamari  liye   Waqt Nahi…….
