Turmoil!!!

 

Are there days when you feel like this??…

My eyes seek out visions in times of want.
They gaze endlessly through the blackness that envelops them …
Yet they cannot see the light.
My ears listen earnestly in times of silence.
They search for familiar sounds to comfort and console …
Yet they cannot penetrate the darkness that surrounds me.
My arms reach out frantically in times of despair.
They seek strength and compassion to enfold me …
Yet they find nothing substantial to enwrap.
My mind cries out desperately in times of solitude.
It poses intense questions that demand answers …
Yet there are none to be found……
 

Well I am sure from time to time we all pass through this phase. Well it was one of these sombre moods that had engulfed me  as I got ready for my yoga class. I thought I don’t want to go, but I am glad I did, because I learnt a very useful thought from my yoga teacher. She said our mind is like a glass of muddy water the more you stir it the cloudier it becomes. The vision becomes very dull, unclear and it makes no sense just as from time to time our minds get in a similar state. No matter what you do the thoughts are jumbled, puzzling and sometimes overwhelming.But don’t despair, If you leave the glass of cloudy water aside and let it rest, soon the dirt and debris settles to the bottom and the water becomes clear, well the mind is the same when you are in   a turmoil, leave it alone, relax, deviate it from these thoughts and soon like the muddy water all the heartache and distress will settle and once again it will become clear.

What a valuable thought this was, one certainly worth remembering!!!

  2. turmoil?? is this possible if you are positive, always keep smiling and well organised?
    I think you was missing something.

    One of my teacher told us “human mind changes mood after every 6 hours[max]”.

    with start of one kind of mood you need to leave the glass[with cloudy water] aside, but if your mood is hilarious then stir it.

  4. A wonderful post, displaying two ends of the spectrum. When you feel you are lost in a fog of thoughts that seem to be ddragging you in evey direction.

    And then once you decide to calm down and deviate you mind from negativity, let it Rest so to speak, you find yourself ready to be patient once again !!!
